Best Travel Apps For Your Next Camping Adventure

You may think that when you go camping or traveling in your RV that this is the time to go without your technology. However, when used properly there are apps that will only enhance your experience. No matter what you need, there is an app that can make your next adventure even more incredible. In this six part series we go over all of the best travel apps to assist in making your next outdoor adventure a reality.

Roadside America

Do you want to have some great side adventures during your trip? Then you will want to download Roadside America. While this is only on the iOS and it costs money, this can be such a great app for you to take some side adventures while you are on the road. What this app specializes in is to help travelers find weird attractions that you may not have ever heard of. With this app, you will get unknown destinations right off of the highway as well as reports and maps.

CoPilot RV

This is an app that was specifically made for people riding around in RVs. With CoPilot RV, you get incredibly reliable navigation in offline mode which will calculate any route depending on your vehicle class and size. One of the great things about this app is that it allows you to avoid dangerous accidents with both propane-restricted tunnels and low bridges. This is a free app that is available for both the Android and iOS.

Reserve America

When you get this app for free (available on both iOS and Android devices), you get a convenient app to manage campsite reservations across North America. You can access information about most of the state and local campsites in this region. You are able to search by locations, site type, and dates using this app. If you sign up for an account, you will even be able to save your favorite campsites as well as organize your favorite choices through category lists.

Gas Buddy

When you are on the road in an unfamiliar location, the last thing that you want to do is search around for a gas station to fill up. What Gas Buddy does is to both help you find the gas stations in the area as well as the cheapest gas in the area. You can filter the results by location and brand. You can also find gas stations with certain amenities that you may be looking for, such as one with a public restroom. This app is free for both iOS and Android devices.

The Dyrt

This is a unique app, streamlining the process of finding the best campsites. You can search through campsites and read the reviews of other visitors to decide if that is a campsite that you want to visit. You can filter by how you get to the site (by boat, driving, hiking, or walking) and what type of site it is. The site incentivizes users to write reviews, offering users money or prizes. The Dyrt is free for both iOS and Android.
